Custom MDF Wainscoting

Wainscoting panels are made to order using 60″ × 120″ sheets. Rooms that exceed these dimensions in height or length are accommodated by joining panels with a spline joint, allowing for a seamless installation. 30″ paneling is commonly used with fillers beneath the base molding to achieve finished panel heights of approximately 36″– 38″. Panels may be installed over sheetrock or applied directly to wall studs. When installed directly to the studs, the finished detailing around windows and doors provides a more authentic, traditional appearance.

Wainscoting can be used in a variety of areas throughout a home to add architectural detail and visual interest. It is commonly applied in dining rooms to create a classic, finished look, and in mud rooms, where it provides both style and durability in high-traffic spaces. Wainscoting can also enhance the area around a fireplace mantel, helping to frame the focal point of the room. It works well along wide wall openings or cased openings, where it helps visually tie adjacent spaces together, and along stairways, where it can follow the rise of the stairs to create a cohesive and elegant transition between floors.
