When ordering a custom door, several key details must be specified to ensure proper design and fit. Provide the door width, height, and thickness, along with the door design, sticking and panel style, and any glass requirements. If grilles are included, specify the type and layout. Indicate the desired wood species and paint or stain grade, as well as hinge size, function, and finish, handing, and hardware preparation or backset. Additional information is required for the jamb, including wall thickness, material selection (wood or primed composite), and whether weatherstripping will be located at the bottom sweep or sill threshold. Also specify the exterior casing size and profile, the mull post material (wood or primed composite), and any special machining requirements needed for the installation.
